These terms govern your use of muindex.com and the mμ app at app.muindex.com (together, the “Service”), operated by mμ (“we”, “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you agree to them for that organization.
Not investment advice
Everything on the Service — index levels, valuations, multiples, reports, news, and transaction data — is for information only. It is not investment, financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice, and it is not an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any asset. Valuations are estimates produced by models from assumptions and third-party data. They can be wrong, and actual transaction prices can differ materially. Make your own decisions, and consult qualified advisers before acting.
1. The Service
mμ provides research, data, and analytics about music assets, including the mμ 500 index, catalog valuations, market news, and transaction data. The Service is in private beta. Features may change, and we may add, change, or withdraw them at any time.
2. Accounts
Access is by invitation. Give us accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure, and don’t share your account. You’re responsible for activity under your account. If you think it has been compromised, tell us promptly at intelligence@muindex.com.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, or bulk-download data, or access the Service by automated means, except as we permit;
- resell, redistribute, or publish data or reports from the Service without our written permission;
- reverse engineer the Service or attempt to extract our models or methodology;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, or try to access it without authorization; or
- use the Service for anything unlawful.
4. Our content
The Service — including the mμ 500 index, our methodology, valuations, reports, software, and branding — belongs to mμ or our licensors. While these terms apply, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own internal purposes.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into the Service, such as the indexes you build and the assumptions you set. You permit us to store and process it to provide the Service to you. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.
6. Third-party data and links
The Service draws on data from third parties and links to third-party sites, including news sources. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their accuracy or content.
7. Paid plans
Some plans are paid. Their fees and terms are set out in your order or agreement with us, which applies alongside these terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its data will be accurate or complete.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, mμ won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or investment losses, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify mμ against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these terms.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the Service. The sections on investment advice, our content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity continue to apply after your access ends.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date, and if a change is significant, we’ll let account holders know. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept it.
